Yom Kippur- Day Of Atonement

Following God’s calendar Wednesday 15th starts the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur in Hebrew.

It’s the holiest day of the year for the Jewish people. It’s central themes are atonement and repentance. The Jewish people traditionally observe this holy day with a 25 hour period of fasting and intense prayer, often spending most of the day in synagogue services. Yom Kippur completes the annual period known in Judaism as the High Holy Days or the Days of Awe.

While most believers do not celebrate this holiday as the Jewish people do. I think it’s important to stop for a while and reflect and repent on personal sins, the fate of each person is sealed for the next upcoming year.

The definition of Yom Kippur. A Jewish holiday observed with fasting and prayer on the 10th day of Tishri in accordance with the rites described in Leviticus 16.
