Psalm 5
Most of us can admit we need God’s help to win the battle we are fighting. Psalm 5 teaches us how to pursue and receive God’s Word from the Holy Spirit in order to receive help. As we receive God’s Word from the Spirit, faith becomes a simple matter of doing what God tells us, and then expecting God to do what He promises for our faith.
Give ear to my words O Lord. Consider my meditation. Harken unto the voice of my cry. My King and My God, For unto Thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear, in the morning. O Lord in the morning. Will I direct my prayer. Unto thee and will look up. Psalm 5:1-3
It’s time to put God first. The enemy comes after us all day long, and if you are going to “stay ahead of him“ you need to pursue God first thing in the morning. Mediation is praying and praising God with Psalms, and the words of Psalm 5 are the specifics for this pursuit.
But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; In fear of You I will worship toward Your Holy Temple. Psalm 5:7
It’s time to find a Bible believing congregation who are worshiping God with the San faith and expectation of “hearing and receiving from God” that you are. When you are fighting for your life (or any other battle) the ability to hear and receive from God increases exponentially when you pray and worship with other believers. “In fear of You I will worship” literally means…to worship with the hope of hearing from God so you can obey Him…and that’s what it’s all about.
Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies- make your way straight before me. Psalm
We need to keep believing for and receiving wisdom and grace from God for every battle. Psalm 5:8
Every time we pray we should expect to hear and receive God’s guidance in any situation.
