Perspective Is Everything

Our perspective is the lens at which we view life and most importantly God’s role in our life.

Our perspective is formed by what we believe is true. As believers of Jesus wisdom should come from God’s Word. It should open up characteristics and truths about Jesus that can unlock an intimacy with Him that we haven’t known before. But, many times we do not take advantage of this wisdom. We don’t require ourselves to use the wisdom to create a new perspective develop a new lens to look through.

We don’t mirror our thoughts after Him, we mirror our thoughts after those around us. Stories on social media, friends, entertainment and the list goes on.

I changed my entire life for the better by developing a new perspective. For many years I mirrored myself with everything around me, what other people thought I should be. It was the most horrible years of my life. perspective is definitely everything.

If we harvest the wisdom that we can gain from Godly values, and morals we would begin to for a new perspective -we would begin to identify God’s goodness in our lives. But instead to many people would rather, follow after their lusts and desires to do what ever they want. Nothing else matters except them.

So, what exactly is God’s goodness? What does that even mean? In order to understand God’s goodness – you must first understand what His goals are, what His mindset is. His mindset is, and always will be His glory. Yes, He loves us, but He desires us to desire Him and glorify Him. Look at Isaiah 43:2-7.

Verse 7 tells us, “Everything who is called by my name, whom I created for My Glory, whom I formed and made.

No matter how deep we probe into the motives of God. We will never arrive at a layer which is not love.

John Piper

God is good all the time. Yet, too many believers define that goodness by their circumstances rather than who God actually is. Human beings will always fail us, the world fails us. Our family and friends fail us. So why do we try so desperately to define God and relate God to a worldly image. God is so much bigger than any box we try to put Him in, or any circumstance that we could go through.

Even when we go through trauma and disappointment, God is in the middle of that and He is reigning supreme (Psalm 115:8).. All we have to do is reach out to Him and He will be there. He is orchestrating every step we make and holding us tightly to His will (Ephesians 1:11).

We should be standing in awe just at the thought that God cares enough for each of us that He is directing our footsteps. He wants to be the ‘good Shepard,’ we just have to accept and humble ourselves before His plan for us.

But what happens when life happens, things start to hit the fan, and life begins to crumble? Is God still good then? The answer is yes.

When you realize this, in that moment, perspective takes control. You can decide to hate Him or be angry at Him or pray without ceasing that your circumstances would change, or you can choose to have a heavenly perspective.

That means that you can look at your negative circumstances-the people yelling at you, the decisions you have made, the trauma and death that surround you and say, God, you created this for your glory. Help me identify what Your Glory looks like in this mess. Because this world is a mess.

Ask Him what He wants you to learn. How He wants you to respond. Who He wants you to live through this mess.

We have got to begin looking up instead of out. When we begin to glorify God, God sees Goodness though the mess.

He wants us to desire Him because He knows that when we have His mindset, when we are truly desiring Him. We can be peace-loving, kind, and filled with the joy of heaven.

Don’t allow your perspective to be selfish. we rarely go though trauma with our head looking up at God and not out at the physical answers and people. Maybe it’s time we began to look up.

If we shift our thoughts, our actions, and our mentality our perspectives will radically our lives.

God is Good. He truly wants us to experience His goodness. But in order to experience that – We must shift our perspective.
