Instead of dwelling on what’s wrong, what didn’t work out, start thinking about what God promised you. God said your latter days woe better than your former. You haven’t seen, heard, or imagined what He had in store for you.
When you stop dwelling on things you free your from (the negativity, past, present) it cleans headspace to make room for healthy growth.
I can attest that nothing good has ever come out of one of my excessive dwelling sessions. It only seems to unnecessarily blow the issue out of proportion.
Dwelling on things feels like it gives you a sense of control, that somehow this rumination process is going to help you feel better or solve the problem. But in reality you never end up feeling better or more in control. You’ll end up feeling hyper-focused on a negative situation.
