Special Dishes For The Holidays

Do you or your family make any special dishes for the holidays?

I always make my father’s yam recipe. It’s not all that gooey marshmallow stuff in it. These are made with cinnamon, raw honey, vanilla, brown sugar, nutmeg, clove, and butter. Every Thanksgiving and every Christmas I make them. I think they are called Soul Food Style Baked Candied Yams.

I remember my grandmother making her Hungarian Walnut Cookies. They were delicious. But I can’t make them as good as her, hers were super moist, and mine turn out dry. So I stopped trying to make these.
