Strengthening God’s Foundations For Us In Battle
Psalm 11 is a call to righteousness and holiness.
“In the Lord I put my trust; How can you say to my soul, flee as a bird to your mountain? For look! The wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow on the string, that they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart. if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” -Psalm 11:1-3
God tells us that although our soul wants to “Flee as a bird…when the wicked bend their bow” (the enemy attacks us). He has a different plan for us.
God needs us to stand strong and fight the enemy. The prayers from Psalm 11 strengthen us for the battles we are fighting for ourselves and for our nation.
“The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord is on His heavenly throne. He observes the sons of men; His eyes examine them. The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked and those who love violence His soul hates“ -Psalm 11:4-5
God is clear when He says He hates wicked and violent people. While God uses every trial to refine us, ultimately He needs us to stand against evil and fight for righteousness in the earth, our nations, and our communities.
“If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?“ – Psalm 11:3
When the enemy attacks us, Satan’s hope is to destroy our faith. At the same time God uses these attacks to strengthen and increase our faith and to train us as soldiers in the Army of God.
“Let Him rain coals on the wicked; fire and sulfur and scorching wind shall be the portion of there cup“ -Psalm 11:6.
Ephesians 6:12 tells us, “We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers in heavenly places.”
“For the Lord is righteous, He loves justice, upright men will see His face” -Psalm 11:7.
This Psalm is the Sword of the Spirit, for the battles our nation and the world are facing. Now is the time to pray and declare the promises in this very specific prayer to defeat the enemy’s attacks against us.
How to we pray and declare the promises of Psalm 11? Pray God’s Word directly from this Psalm. God wants us to pray His words from the Bible.
We are in the greatest season of refining in the history of the church.
The fruit of this will be a deeper relationship with God and walking continually in His blessings, provision, and protection.
