How do you use social media?

How do j use social media? I use social media to mostly stay in contact with extended family, and friends. I am careful not to listen to the news there because it is usually one-sided. And I like to think for myself, not have people tell me what I should think.

Social media has many drawbacks and few advantages. Social media tends to distract us from reality and can become an addiction if we are not careful. I know people who spend 4-5 hours on social media. Some have pit their personal relationships by the wayside.
