What’s your go-to comfort food?
Whether consciously or unconsciously I turn to mashed potatoes with charred corn mixed in. Ice cream is also my go-to comfort food. I don’t think it is food from my childhood memories. It’s just dang good.
Comfort foods activate dopamine in our brains which makes us feel good. Sweet and starchy foods help our bodies make serotonin which naturally makes us feel calmer and decreases the stress hormone cortisol.
