
Bethlehem is known as the “House of Bread” because its name comes from the Hebrew words bet (house) and lehem (bread). the significance of Bethlehem, as a birthplace of Jesus and the fulfillment of prophecy is central, to its meaning as the “House of Bread.”
Jesus’s Birth
Jesus, His birth and Bethlehem was a fulfillment of prophecy. Jesus calls himself the “Bread of Life” and said, “I am the bread of life, whoever comes to me, shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35)
