The Lord Laughs

Psalm 2 tells us “The Lord laughs at the wicked.” meaning that God finds the people plotting and rebellion against Him futile and ridiculous that He essentially laughs at their attempts to oppose Him. He knows that His supreme power and confidence that their plans will ultimately fail.

God is not threatened by human rebellion and sees their efforts as insignificant. His laughter is a way of expressing His disdain for the wicked schemes against Him and His chosen ones.

The world has plotted the throw off God’s control. But the setting is black and white. God’s enemies stand against Him on one side, and His friends with Him on the other side. His plans will not be thwarted.

There is no reason to fear if we are on the side who are friends with God. Soon enough our enemies will hear His voice, but instead of being comforted by God, they will be terrified by His fury (Psalm 2:5).

They will stand no chance against the sovereignty of God. They will be overmatched and will most certainly lose in the end.

We all have free will, but soon people will have a choice of which side they wish to be on – God’s or Satan’s.
