My great Christmas Catastrophe was when I baked cookies, made fudge, and other assorted candies for a my family annual Christmas feast.
I made them all and they put them in the oven to get them out of the way while I was cooking my nephew’s favorite candied yam.
I forgot and set the oven to preheat in turn melting the platter of treats I had spent so much money and time on.
As I opened the oven door I was shocked and horrified, to find a disaster.
My only hope was that someone else could bring treats. Along with the store-bought candy I had.
Thank goodness I had cooked the yams and they just had to be preheated at my mother-in-law’s house.
