In school we had to read books in English/literature class and then write an essay on them. One of the most boring books I’ve read was “The Scarlett Letter” It’s slow pacing plot that dragged out a story, and could have been told in fewer pages to get the point across.
I think if you’re going to assign a book to read, and keep the readers interested in reading this was not a book to assign to 16-year-olds. Of course, this is just my opinion.
