How can you build a regular fitness routine?

I used to have the perfect fitness routine down pat. I never felt so good when I was doing it, but I just can’t seem to get moving.

My routine for exercise used to be going to the swimming pool from 5 AM to 6 AM, coming home doing my chores, and then taking a 1 mile evening walk. But since my knee surgery I have been struggling to get back into a steady routine.
