“My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth” -1 John 3:18
This verse teaches that genuine love requires that biblical believer’s love requires practical actions rather than empty words.
When the church was born the upper room, the power of the Holy Spirit breathe into all believers ability to bring the kingdom of heaven to earth.
We have the power to lay hands on the sick, we have the power to cast our demons, and we possess that power of the Name above any other name -Jesus.
Until we put our faith to work through the obedience of God‘s word, we will not tap into that power. Many churches read as part of their tradition, but do they not believe that they are His God breathed words to us. They claim the Bible is an historical document. They do not believe in our God, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever -who still heals and deals in signs and wonders.
I know a lady in my church whose nephew had a lung transplant, two days later he was up walking and talking, and he left the hospital 5 days later to begin living a life for God. His work environment destroyed his lungs and took his ability to breathe normally. If that isn’t God’s work to restore a man’s ability to have another chance at life I don’t know what it is.
We have been so accustomed to walking in the status quo that we have lost sight of who God really is. We can experience signs and wonders sent by God for who He is and not what He can do for us. We can see the lost forsake their sin and come to know Jesus. We can witness captives set free, marriages mended, addictions broken, and sicknesses healed. But we must begin to believe and receive what happened in the upper room. And not settle for what most churches teach or preach -the status quo. I believe there is a stark contrast between believers who merely survive and a believer who is actively thriving.
The reality is, we are in a state of pure survival mode. We have lost sight of Jesus -Our leader and reached a point of an uncertain future.
