Break Up Your Unplowed Ground

Every year in January according to the Jewish calendar. God tells us to plant a seed to be fruitful for the year.

The seed I planted at the beginning of the year has not seen much fruit. I’ve been asking the Lord, “why? What have a done wrong?” This is what God in laying on my heart.

Break up your unplowed ground. Jeremiah 4:3 says, “Break up your unplowed ground and do not sow your seeds among the thorns.” And Hosea 10:13 says, “Sow for yourselves righteousness, and reap the fruit of unfailing love, break up your unplowed ground.

These two verses have common phrases. “Break up your unplowed ground.” But what does that mean, and how do I do that? If I look at different translations of the Bible, (NIV, KJV, ESV) it reads “fallow ground.” Which is tillable, untilled ground. This is land that could be productive, but for some reason has not been broken up, tilled, or prepared for planting. So to answer the question above it means I have to break up my land spiritually.

Unplowed ground is unusable, nothing can grow there my seed won’t penetrate, germinate or grow to maturity if I don’t my roots can’t go deep enough to grow anything.

In other words, I sowed a seed, but because I didn’t bother to prepare my soil it had little or no effect.

When I apply this agricultural analogy to spiritual things. I learn what must be done to get ready for planting the seed I need to grow.

So, I automatically ask myself “What had been growing in my heart previously, whether it be hatred, bitterness, greed…whatever it is I need to get rid of it so something else can be planted. if something else is taking up space, a new seed can’t grow in the light.

The hardness must be broken up. I need to get rid of the hardness in my heart, in my case it’s the stubbornness of being not willing to let go of the old ways. I can’t plant something new, if there’s something old still growing.

Whether it’s laziness, or not believing I can make the change, I have to trust God to break up the unplowed ground. He can do it, I just have direct him toward the places in me that I know must be dealt with.

The hardness of me changing a few bad habits have to be faced squarely and broken up if I’m going to let something else grow. And all those ugly thorns have to be burned. I know now that parts of me have been covered with thorns and weeds.

Thorns make the fields of our hearts unproductive. Matthew 13:22 tells us that, The one who receives the seed that fell among the thorns is the one who hears but the worries of life choke out the seeds, making us unfruitful.

Looking toward the next 6 months I know I have to rededicate myself to sowing my seed, as clean out the thorns and weeds I have let take over my land (my heart).

I’m looking forward to becoming more self-disciplined as I finish off the year.

Bible Verse Psalm 7

The purpose of Psalm 7 is to bring repentance where sin if giving victory to the enemy. We will never have faith to win a ‘Big Fight’ (your health or the nation). If you are not allowing God to help you gain victory over sin in your own life.

O Lord God, I take refuge in You. Save me from all who pursue me, and deliver. Psalm 7:1

We all need God’s help when the world is coming against us.would you pray this prayer to get it?

O Lord my God, if I have done this, if there is wrong in my hands, if I have repaid my friend with evil, or plundered my enemy, without cause let my enemy pursue my soul and overtake it, and let him trample my life to the ground and lay my glory in the dust. Psalm 7:3-5

And am I asking for that same grace to save me from myself.

We must 1st deal with sin in our own life’s to operate on the level of faith needed for the battles that are before us.

Arise, Lord, in your anger rise up against the rage of my enemies. Awake, my God; decree justice. Psalm 7:6

God gives us a prayer to ask “for His judgment against our enemies.” We must yield to the refining work of the Spirit to be certain our hearts are right with God when we pray this way.

The Lord shall judge the people; judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me. Psalm 7:8

God needs us to pray that He will stop evil in the world. We need God to stop evil in our nation.

Our prayer to stop sin in our own lives opens our hearts to God’s Grace to pray for our nation.

Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just; For the righteous God, cash tests hearts and minds. My defense is of God, Who saves the upright in heart. God is a just judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day. Psalm 7:9-11

God test us to keep our hearts and minds pure before Him, So He can keep us in His blessing and protection.

We must not pray for deliverance alone. But consider the test and welcome the refining work of the Holy Spirit.

I will praise the Lord, according to his righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high. Psalm 7:17

It is now time to praise God for the righteousness He has called us to walk in. We can expect the victory over the enemy attacks that have come against us, our families, our churches, and our nation.

Heal Your Body By Using Your Mind

A few simple changes to the way you think could make a big difference to your physical health.

There’s a clear connection between where your brain thinks and the way your body feels. Yes, I can use your body use your psychological distress, you can also use your mind and improve your body.

Simply changing the way you think and taking charge of what occupies your mind, can you improve your physical health and well-being.

Here are a few tips to use your mind to promote physical health.

1. Make the treatments your doctor gives you, by expecting them to work.

It works like the placebo effect. If you tell yourself “This treatment will never work!” It probably won’t because you put that thought into your mind. Expect the treatment to work, “I know this treatment is going to work!” Yes, I know it sounds crazy, right. But science says that the effectiveness of a treatment depends on your mind.

When I was diagnosed with cancer. The doctor told me I had about 1 Year to live. At first I was devastated, I had children at home. On the way home on a 2 hour drive from the city. I kept thinking this can be real. I was having a nightmare. I had a surgery scheduled in three days.

They weren’t sure if it had spread to my tissues. I had a grapefruit size tumor in my bladder. After the surgery I woke up in the worse pain of my life. I remember thinking I cannot do this.

After I returned home, I said to myself, “I have fought my entire life, lived through things where I should have died. I am no going to let that “Damn Devil Win!” I contacted some close friends of my church and asked them to start praying for me. A friend told me about a drink called “Immortality Tea.” She said she could make me some, and then give me the recipe. I told her “I’ll try anything.

A few weeks after my surgery it was found I still had cancer. I told the doctor “I will beat this” all he said was ‘I hope so.’ That day he ordered a treatment called BCG. It’s a treatment that injects the liquid drug directly into the bladder.

After about probably a month of drinking the “immortality Tea” my cancer was gone, no trace of it. The doctor was amazed. I am not sure what healed me, the tea or the prayers or the BCG, maybe a little of all three.

It’s been 10 years, since my Cancer Surgery. And still cancer free. “I beat it!” So, before you undergo any kind of treatment, think about all the reasons the treatment is likely to help. Don’t doubt a cure.

2. Sleep Better by writing a gratitude journal.

If your struggling with insomnia a gratitude journal could help. Studies have shown that gratitude can lead to better quality, longer lasting sleep.

Identify three things you’re grateful for and write them down before you go to bed. Conjuring up thankfulness right before you fall asleep might give you a good nights sleep. And praying doesn’t hurt.

3. Focus on your purpose in life

Feeling like you have a sense of purpose could actually increase the length of your life. Studies consistently show people who believe their lives are meaningful are more likely to live healthier longer lives.

( Make sure your doing something that matters. Whether it’s working or volunteering. Feeling like you have a reason to get out of bed every day might be the secret to longevity.

4. Being optimistic can boost your immunity

Several studies have shown that optimistic people are less likely to get sick. For decades, researchers thought the blues and unity stemmed from the fact that optimistic people were more likely to take care of their health.

But, or we can save her soon, and I hope for outlook on life is actually what influences immunity. It look like looking on the bright side of things make you less likely to get a cold or infection because optimism keeps your immune system performing at its peak.

Mediation can slow the aging process

Meditation provides a generous buffer against the harmful effects of stress can have on your body. A number of studies have shown meditation slows the rate of cellular aging.

No matter your age it’s never to late to begin meditating whether it’s physical or mental. Even the Bible says “ meditate on God’s word.”

6.Build muscle imagining

Yes, imagining, What if you could get buff by imagining yourself lifting weights? Well researchers have actually found the mental imagery can help gain muscle without lifting a finger. Yes, people who actually lifted weights saw better results, but research shows mental training can provide some serious changes to muscle mass.

7. Reduce heart disease by laughing

If you want a healthier heart, think about something funny. Research shows that laughter decreases stress hormone, and increases “good” cholesterol, and reduces artery inflammation.

Perhaps laughter is the best medicine. And the positive effects of laughter can last 24 hours.

The power of your mind can be your best asset or your worst enemy. It’s vital now more than ever to learn how to train your brain to help your body perform at its peak.

Everyone has the ability to build mental strength. With practice, mental exercise could be the key to living a longer, happier life.

Bible Verse Psalm 6

Psalm 6

This Psalm will help battle sickness and infirmity from a spiritual perspective. We must acknowledge that if sin or demon spirits are at the root of the problem. Only God’s Mercy as the basis for faith will bring the healing. God has specific “Words” and prayers for dealing with these kinds of sicknesses.

Pray:

O Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger. Nor chasten me in Your displeasure. Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak; O Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled. My soul is greatly troubled. But You, O Lord – how long? Psalm 6:1-3

Whether you are praying for yourself or someone else, the Word is given here is vital for the healing.

Turn O Lord, deliver my life; save me for the sake of your steadfast love. For in death there is no remembrance of You in Sheol who will give You praise. Psalm 6:4-5

Getting God involved requires that we pursue Him. Pray for His mercy to bring His power to save us.

Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity; For the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping. The Lord has heard my supplication; The Lord will receive my prayer. Psalm 6:8-9

This verse is for spiritual battles concerning infirmity. Not all sickness is the result of sin…but a lot is.

Only deliverance through specific prayers (given by the Holy Sprit) will bring healing.

Here’s a basic prayer, that is a good place to start. We have authority in Christ if we are born again.

Prayer:

In the Name of Jesus Christ I take authority over demoing spirits who have gained access in this situation. I repent of the sin that gave them access to me (or the one your praying for) and I pray for the cleansing power of the blood of Christ to wash this situation and make it white as snow. I receive God’s mercy to bring healing and forgiveness that drive the enemy away. Amen.

We must continue “seeking the Lord” for wisdom for the deliverance and healing we are seeking.

The Lord had heard my cry for mercy; the Lord accepts my prayer. Psalm 6:9

Use your faith based on the promises in God’s Word. We have done what God said, and can expect the promised results.

All my enemies will be overwhelmed with shame and anguish. They will turn back and suddenly be put to shame. Psalm 6:10.

Following God’s instruction is the Key to faith and victory in any trial we face. Continue to receive God’s Grace by declaring promises directly from His Word and that you receive from the Spirit.

Bible Verse Psalm 5

Psalm 5

Most of us can admit we need God’s help to win the battle we are fighting. Psalm 5 teaches us how to pursue and receive God’s Word from the Holy Spirit in order to receive help. As we receive God’s Word from the Spirit, faith becomes a simple matter of doing what God tells us, and then expecting God to do what He promises for our faith.

Give ear to my words O Lord. Consider my meditation. Harken unto the voice of my cry. My King and My God, For unto Thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear, in the morning. O Lord in the morning. Will I direct my prayer. Unto thee and will look up. Psalm 5:1-3

It’s time to put God first. The enemy comes after us all day long, and if you are going to “stay ahead of him“ you need to pursue God first thing in the morning. Mediation is praying and praising God with Psalms, and the words of Psalm 5 are the specifics for this pursuit.

But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; In fear of You I will worship toward Your Holy Temple. Psalm 5:7

It’s time to find a Bible believing congregation who are worshiping God with the San faith and expectation of “hearing and receiving from God” that you are. When you are fighting for your life (or any other battle) the ability to hear and receive from God increases exponentially when you pray and worship with other believers. “In fear of You I will worship” literally means…to worship with the hope of hearing from God so you can obey Him…and that’s what it’s all about.

Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies- make your way straight before me. Psalm

We need to keep believing for and receiving wisdom and grace from God for every battle. Psalm 5:8

Every time we pray we should expect to hear and receive God’s guidance in any situation.

The Wilderness

Wilderness can mean a place to escape, recharge, learn, teach, and even find yourself. But today when someone tells you they’re in the wilderness, it means they’re going to a trial or tough times.

In Deuteronomy 8:1-3, God gives us four reasons he took the children of Israel through the wilderness, and he takes us there for the same reasons. The wilderness is a picture of trial and Temptations. The military calls it Boot Camp, and it’s to find the best way to get the job done.

The wilderness is a tough place to be. But this is where we are. So what happens now?

The world enough is a place of transition. So, if you’ve come from somewhere known and navigable know that stability is on the horizon. And in between is the unknown place called the wilderness. Yet through the unknown comes change.

After God deliver the Israelites from the land of slavery, they lived in toward the edge of the promised land. They left behind what they knew, and where they felt safe and moved toward a new place. One generation shifted to the next, and the new generation learn from the mistakes of the old, one generation snap 40 years, wandering the desert (the wilderness), because they would not follow God‘s ways, and kept complaining and grumbling about what they were to do. The new generation learned to listen to God and went into the Promise Land (Isreal).

The wilderness like we see as a place of struggle. But God sees it as a test. It tests our resolve to keep pressing on; our resilience under pressure.

The Israelites saw the walled cities and giant enemies, and decided that God was not to be trusted. Will he get really us through that? he probably thought. Not thinking of Him just parting the Red Sea to save them from slavery. They grew sick of the bread. God provided for them and wanted more. Were we better off without him in Egypt? They grew tired of Moses’s leadership and he grew tired of them.

What was at stake in the Wilderness was whether the Israelites could really trust God. They weren’t just moaning about misfortune. In the way at child moans about a dinner they dislike. They long for the days in Egypt being slaves. They wanted to cash off God’s oversight, and his leader (Moses) and return to what they had in Egypt.

Israelite cries in the wilderness or different from the healthy lament, than when Job and David cried out. They did so knowingly that God is just and good but the Israelites did not. While Job and David struggled to make sense of their situations. They remembered God’s promises and yearned for His deliverance. The wilderness generation, (the Israelites) Got their situation in surmountable. Instead of crying for deliverance, they wanted to walk away from God.

The Wilderness tests us. It tests whether we will trust God.

When things are especially difficult, the wilderness, call the veracity of God’s promises into question.

God makes great promises. Jesus has promised that He gives life and life in abundance. And yet the creation groans, and we follow Jesus to the cross.

What the Israelites needed, and what we need, is to remember that our circumstances are not hostile to God’s promises. What is clear in the book of Numbers is that whatever happens, God’s faithful character never changes. Nor are God’s promises altered. Things aren’t easy, but we can trust God.

Trusting God in the wilderness knee, turning to God, not against Him. It needs turning to God in prayer, not away from Him in silence. It means turning to God for spiritual nourishment, and not only to ourselves or our crutches for aid. It means turning to God through our local church leaders when we find it too hard to face God alone.

You’re the end of the Israelites will bring us experience fits a bizarre story about a foreign prophet named Balaam and his ass in Numbers 22. An enemy (Balac) hires Balaam to curse the Israelites, but Balaam has no choice but to speak only the words God gives him – just like his talking donkey. Despite their rebellion and miss trust, God blesses his people as they languish in the wilderness.

But the Israelites did not simply have to wait until the end to discover this. Near the beginning, God gives it words that promise is good for the Israelites no matter what they face. Assurance that the Lord is always with them.

The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace. ( Numbers 6:24-26).

When the Israelites drew near to God to worship and pray, they would be strengthened with these words. When they trusted Him, He kept him safe with the Nourishment they needed. What ever happened, the nation would survive. God‘s grace would cover over their sin. If they remained faithful, they would have peace.

As the languish in the wilderness The Lord is with us by His son and Spirit. Whatever sin we have fallen into as we move through the desert wilderness, His Grace is sufficient to cover it. When we trust in Him, He will spiritually nourished us with the bread of life and living water that wells up to eternal life. He offers us and enriched, spiritual life now, and hope for everlasting comfort. When we’re anxious and weary, He hears our prayers, carries our burdens, and gives us rest and peace.

The wilderness is a tough place to be. But this is where we are today. Maybe we should start trusting Him.

Today’s Psalm 4

Psalm 4

Psalm 4 is to call all believers to righteousness/holiness… To keep you in God’s protection and provision.

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; have mercy on me, and hear my prayer. How long O you sons of men, will you turn my glory to shame? How long will you love worthlessness and seek falsehood?

We all cry out to God when we need help. Find shows us in this Psalm that IF the trouble we are experiencing is the result of our bad choices God has a plan for helping us anyway. (Imagine that).

If we pray through Psalm 4 and learn to receive forgiveness and God’s grace to bring healing and victory in situations where we have allowed the enemy to come through bad choices that reject God’s glory and truth.

We need to pray for God to show us where our choices have given the enemy advantage over us. And to forgive us and restore us to His grace and to a place where we can receive the victory He promises us.

Ps 3-4. But know that the Lord has set apart for HimselfHis to is godly; The land will hear when I call to Him.

“Him who is godly” is any person who obeys God. When you acknowledge to God, and to yourself that God has a power in the plan you need for victory, and the trial you are facing… and you begin to seek Him about it. Will quickly experience an increase in your faith.

We need to pray “ you are above all powers, and above all creation. And you still love me enough to get involved in my life and in my battle. Help me to hear from You and receive the Word from the Spirit that he will give me victory in court by You as my God and my Savior.”

Ps 4-5. Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate with in your heart on your bed, and be still. Offered the sacrifices of righteousness and put your trust in the Lord.

Here’s the key: Your “flesh,” in other words, You don’t want to be told you are you doing anything wrong, God wants us “not to get angry”, but to meditate about “what He has said to you. Stay with this Psalm until you hear Him speak (the Holy Spirit). This is how you put your trust in the Lord.”

Ps 6. There are many who say, “who will show us any good?“ Lord, we lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.

God is saying, “Don’t listen to what they say.” I will show you “the good” because you are doing things His Way.

We need to pray, “ I thank you for Your Grace and Mercy, and for never giving up on me. I am beginning a new walk with you, that will be marked by my hearing from you and following You as You lead me into the blessings, provision, and protection You promise for Your children.

Ps 7-8. You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the season, that their grain and wine increased. I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make m dwell in safety.

This promise will be filled and you as you hear from God,” and begin to follow the “guidance” He gives you. It is also a great “Word to praise Him with” as your “meditation” in the Word and a “Faith Declaration” ti use as your “Sword of the Spirit” until the victory comes.

We All Fall Short

Everyone tries to fill the unfillable hole inside of us with different things: money, sex, drugs, alcohol, success, comfort, diversion, amusement, hobbies, work, nor relationship after relationship. We can create, but everything we create cannot fill the hole. So, we try to redefine reality and create a world without the unfillable hole.

Our flesh and our world can become so broken we tells ourselves it’s broken by design. We all fall short. We all dance the dance because will live with the hopelessness of trying to fill our own hole.

We all need someone or something to fill that hole. Unfortunately many do one understand how to do it until we’ve dug ourselves so far into a pit, or we die trying.

We need someone else to fill the hole. We need the One that created us to make it right. Jesus fills the hole when we choose to follow Him. We receive eternal life in God’s kingdom and through the Holy Spirit, who fills that hole.

Those of us who know Jesus, experience fulfillment. We understand the joy and peace -the life of having that hole filled. When we focus on Jesus and the Holy Spirit, the hole inside is filled. (Ephesians 5:18).

Jesus said He came to give us life (John 10:10), and peace (John 14:27). His life and peace fill our unfillable hole. We no long have to dance with the unfillable hole. But, when we focus on our circumstances, we sense the emptiness and rejoin the dance, and all we can focus on our circumstances.

If we know to follow Jesus we have a responsibility to Him. Our responsibility isn’t just to tell others about the One who filled our hole. Our responsibility is to live a life marked by generosity and love that flows from a filled, unfillable hole.

I hope we live in such a way that people see our good works and glorify God in heaven (1 Peter 2:13). That’s how other will see life beyond dancing with the unfillable hole.

Hope And It’s Elements

Every human being places their hope in something, and every human being asks that hope to deliver something. Where have you placed your hope?

We’ve all been hardwired for hope. We all project our lives out into the future to imagine things as they would like them to be. we all carry around with us, personal hopes and dreams. We all surrender our hearts to some kind of expectation. We all silently wish that things could be different than they are we all hope in something and we all hope for something. So much of how we look at life and how we live, our lives is connected to the thing in which we place our fundamental hopes for our lives.

Hope always have three elements – an assessment, an object, and an expectation. Hope works around and assesses that something or someone could be better than it is; that something or someone is somehow broken. If things were as perfect as they could be, then you wouldn’t need to hope. Hope all has an object it is the thing that you bank your help on. You asked for the object of your hope to fix what is broken or to deliver what is desired or needed. Hope has an expectation. That is what you asked the object of your hope to give you, what you hope the object of your hope will deliver.

Now, there are really only two places to look for foundational life. hope, that is basic meaning and purpose, motivation to continue, a sense of well-being, that acknowledge that you have hooked yourself to what life is really about. You can search for hope horizontally in the situations, experiences, physical possessions, location, and relationships of everyday life. There are two problems with looking horizontally.

First, all of the you things suffer from some degree to brokenness. They are part of the problem, and because they are, they are unable to deliver what you are seeking. Also, these things were never made to be a source of our hope but the fingers at point you to where your hope can be found.

Paul says it all when in Romans 5:5 when he tells us that hope in God will never put us to shame. It will never embarrass us by failing to deliver. In those words, Paul tells us where Hope can be found. It is found only vertically. Only when God is our hope is our hope is sure and secure. Only he is able to give you the life that your heart seeks. Only He is able to give your soul the rest it needs. Only He can deliver the internal peace that is the hunger of every human being. It is only when grace has connected Him to you when you learn what life is really all about.

If Your Hope Disappoints You, It’s Because It’s The Wrong Hope. – Apostle Paul (Romans 5:5)

Psalm 1 Bible Verse

I was just looking at the outline for my Psalms and realized I didn’t post Psalm 1. I’m sharing with you the book of Psalms and the guidance my pastor has given me to learn these and lead to changing not only how I see the Bible, but also changed my life.

Psalm 1

To birth love/passion for God’s Word through meditation

Many say, they love God’s Word, but not as many of them show that love by meditating in it. “ meditation God’s Way” is to worship Him directly from His Word ( the Psalms) and according to the instructions given there. As we worship, ask God to create a passion in you to love Him and pursue Him, His Way… through worship.

Blessed is the man whose delight is in Lord, and on His law he mediates day and night. Psalm 1:1-2.

Ps1:3 He is like a tree, planted by the streams of water, which yields its fruit in season, and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prosperous.

We all pray that God will bless us, nourishes, and provide for us, and caused us to be prosperous in all we do. That is exactly what God promises. He will do if we will worship at Him by meditating in His Word.

Ps 1:6. The Lord watches, over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

God knowing your way, means that because you are close to Him (relationship). He will be aware of every step you take, and can provide you His blessings, protection, and provision as you journey through life with Him.

Today’s Psalm

Psalm 3

Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. Many say of me, “There is no help for him in God.” But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts my head.

The Sword Of The Spirit For Every Battle

This Psalm is “The sword of the spirit for any faith-fight (1 Samuel 17:14). Regardless of the enemy’s strength we must keep our eyes and our hearts on the promise of God to fight for us and bring us victory.

God is our shield, our glory and the One who lifts up our heads. When we declare our faith in God He fights for us.

In all things we must remember that battle is the Lords. But we must pray for Him to give us strength and to fill our souls with peace.

I cried out to Lord and He answered me from His Holy mountain. I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety. For the Lord was watching over me. – Psalm 3:4-5

The enemy’s #1 weapon is fear that comes from being overwhelmed by the strength of your adversary. Our #1 weapon against this is our mouth declaring that we will not be moved by fear.

I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side. – Psalm 3:6

We should not be afraid of who comes against us. Because our battle belongs to the Lord. God teaches us to rely on Hun by growing our faith for the victory in and conflict we are facing.

Arise, Lord! Deliver me, my God. Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people. -Psalm 3:7-8.

God can strengthen our souls and build our faith to declare the strength He had given is fighting our battles in His Strength.
