What Will Happen On Judgment Day

What really happens on the day that everyone must appear before the judgment seat of Christ?

Many believers wonder what will happen on Judgement Day. The first and most important thing to understand about the “final judgment” is that it cannot be avoided.

Regardless of how we may choose to interpret the prophecy of the end times, we are told “It is appointed to me once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). We all have a divine appointment with our Creator. John recorded some details of the final judgment. The Bible tells us, “And I saw a great white throne, and Him sitting on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And a place was not found for them. And I saw the dead, the small and the great stand before God. And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works…(Revelation 20:11-12). This scripture introduces us to the “final judgment” – the end of human history and the beginning of the eternal state. We learn from scripture that God will be just and fair (Acts 10:34) and that God can not be deceived (Galatians 6:7). We can be sure that no mistake will be made in our hearings because we will be judged by a perfect God.

5 things the Bible tells us will happen on judgment day

All Believers Will Stand Before Christ As Judge

We will all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. Not just unbelievers, but “we.” And not some of us, but “all of us.” The Bible teaches very clearly that all men, living and dead, saved and unsaved, must give an account to Christ. In his great sermon in the house of Cornelius Peter said, “That it is He which ordained of God to be the judge of quick and dead.” (1 Petet 4:5). Those who were dead, those who have died since and will have died, and the living must give account to Jesus Christ who is ready to judge all men.

The Opening of the Books

The Book of Life is referenced in Revelation 20:11-15. We learn from this passage that the dead are judged according to their works, by the things where we’re written in books. God’s accounts are so carefully kept that, as Jesus said, we must even give account for every idle word. Each of us writes a book about our lives. Everything we do is recorded. Imagine what it will be like when God begins to look at our memories. If we have sinned, we have the opportunity while in this life to repent and be forgiven. Then God wipes it away, never to be remembered again. Then when the books are opened, we will only have to give accounts for our good works. I love the fact that we are given a chance to repent of our sins on earth, and not be judged by them on judgment day. But, I wonder how many will each judgment day without repenting and getting forgiven.

Reward in Accord with Deeds

There is teaching both in Paul’s writings and in the Words of Jesus that delivers will receive different rewards in accord with the degree that their faith expresses itself in acts of service and love and righteousness.

In 1 Corinthians 3:8 Paul says, “He who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.” And in Ephesians 6:8, Paul says, “Knowing that whatever good thing each one does, he will receive the same again from the Lord, whether he is bound or free. There are varying degrees of reward for the faithfulness of our lives. But it also moves beyond that and also teaches that there is a loss not only of reward but of eternity for those who claim to be faithful but do nothing to show that they prize God’s gifts and love the Giver.

Salvation is Demonstrated By Deeds

The first purpose of the judgment waste make a public demonstration of the varying degrees of rewards that believers will receive for the exercise of their faith in obedience.

The second purpose of the judgment is to declare openly the reality of the fairy and the salvation of God’s people by the evidence of their deeds. So, when Paul says we, “will be recommended…according to what we have done.” he not only means that our rewards will accord with our deeds, but also our salvation will accord with our deeds. Jesus put it like this -and He used exactly the same words for good and evil deeds in 2 Corinthians 5:10.

In John 5:28-29, He said, “An hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs shall hear His voice, and shall come forth: those who did the good deeds to a resurrection life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.”

Accounts are Settled

The Bible tells us, “Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, and anyone not written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:14-15). No wonder Jesus said that we should rejoice because our names are written in the Book of Life.

Then the accounts will have been settled, and everything put in its rightful place. Sin and death are finally gone forever. Out of all affliction and misery, and in spite of the enemy’s power, God, by His wisdom and might, has finished His work for all who have been gathered to Jesus’s right hand.

These are the ones who are written in the Book of Life and will live eternally with The Father and The Son in the new heaven and the new earth.

Emergency Preparedness

Create an emergency preparedness plan.

After a emergency, you may need to survive on your own for several days. A basic emergency supply kit includes,

  • Water – one gallon per person for drinking and sanitation
  • Food – at least a several day supply of non-perishable foods
  • Battery powered or hand crank radio for weather alerts
  • Flashlights
  • First aid kit
  • Extra batteries
  • Whistles to signal for help
  • Dust masks to help filter contaminated air
  • Plastic sheeting and duct tape to shelter in place
  • Local maps (physical maps)
  • Back-up batteries to change cell phones

You can add soap, hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes. Prescription medication, and nonprescription medications.

Infant formula, bottles, diapers if you have babies in the house.

Pet food and extra water for pets

Put family documents and insurance policies, and bank account information in a waterproof portable container.

Blankets or sleeping bags

Match’s kept in a waterproof container in case you need to build a fire.

Make sure you have a established place to meet family members in case you get separated.

This is a basic plan you can prepare in advance it can kept in at home, work or in a vehicle.

It never hurts to be prepared for the unexpected.

Be prepared and stay safe.

Increasing Your Faith

God has not blessed one person with more faith than He blessed anyone else. When we see someone prospering according to the Word, whether it is their health, their finances, or their family, people get the impression that God must have given that person more faith. But, every believer has been given a measure -the same measure – of the kind of God-like faith.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God.” -Ephesians 2:8

“For I say through the grace that was given to me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith.“ -Romand 12:3

So, by reading this we know that faith comes from God. It is the ‘gift of God.’ But He has given it to every believer.

It is not something that God is going to do. We are not trying to get faith. We’re not praying for it. We already have it. Every believer already has this measure of God-like-faith.

God gets everyone started off the same way. Then your faith grows according to what you do with it.

I have to say, I actually never thought about faith this way, until I was lying in bed last night talking to God. I have always prayed for God to increase my faith. We can’t just wrapped out faith up in a napkin, and hide it like we haven’t used it at all. It’s up to us what we do with that measure. We are the one who increases it, not God.

God certainly furnishes the means where faith is increased. We can increase our faith by doing these two things.

  • Feeding on the Word of God and exercising it.
  • Putting it into practice.

The Bible very often uses natural human terms to teach spiritual thoughts. An example of how Jesus taught in His earthy ministry. And we can read it in the Gospels.

“It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every won’t that proceeds out of the mouth of God.“ -Matthew 4:4

Here Jesus is using a natural human idea to convey a spiritual thought. He is saying to us that what bread (or food) is from the body, the Word of Godis to the spirit, or the heart of man.

You know if you eat food regularly, it will build you up physically. But, if you eat right and do not exercise, all you do it get flabby and out of shape.

It’s the same way, you need to feed your faith on God’s Word. But we also need to exercise your faith, because if we don’t, our faith muscles will be flabby. We ain’t be able to do much spiritually when it comes to moving the mountains in your life.

We can feed our spirit on God’s Word and feed our faith, because God’s Word is faith food. But, we also need to exercise it, to develop it and cause it go grow.

In Romans 10:8, Paul called the message he preached the word of faith. He called the Word of God the Word of faith, because the Word will cause faith to come into your heart. God’s Word will build assurance, confidence, and faith in your heart.

The measure of faith we’ve received can be increased by doing things like feeding it with God’s Word and by practicing it in everyday living.

I’ve heard people say, “You either have faith or you don’t.” in one sense that’s true. You’re either a believer or a non-believer. But in another sense when people say that, they are implying that every believer has faith in every respect the same as another believer. But I don’t think that’s true. One person’s faith may not be the same as another person’s faith. There can be a measurable difference. The Word of God tells us that our faith can grow. That one person’s faith may not be as developed or as strong as another person’s faith.

It’s up to use what we do with the measure of faith God has given. We can cause our own faith to grow. For example, you can feed and exercise it so that when the storms of life come along, you will have strong faith. The person who does nothing with their faith will have weak faith.

More Than A Conqueror

Victory In Christ

Because of God’s love, you are more than a conqueror. You have victory over every temptation and spirit assault through the power of Christ that lives with in you.

God promises that no matter what comes into our life, we can have victory through Him. Not just victory, but overwhelming victory through Christ in us. At any given time the enemy may come against us trying to make our lives miserable. But, we are called to not fear or worry because we know that through Christ we will always overcome.

A Spiritual Battle

Every day we enter a spiritual battle, whether you recognize it as such or not. We face enemies of various kinds. Some are strong, small, and some very frightening, but in Christ Jesus we can overcome it all.

Most people fear the enemy of death. So many people go to the gym, eat healthy, and hope to delay death as long as possible but still know it is inevitable. For the true believer there is no fear of death, because Christ conquered death on the cross and gave us eternal life. We have victory over death because with Jesus we have eternal life. Death is just a doorway into the eternal presence of God.

We can have victory over sin because Jesus set us free over the powers that comes against us. We can repent from sin every day and God will forgive us, but the way to ensure victory is turning away from that sin after we ask for forgiveness. We can be forgiven wipe our slates clean, be move forward with obeying God. That’s how we become more than conquerors in Christ.

That’s how you can have victory over the powers of darkness that comes against you. When you choose to believe in God, you become a member of God’s Army, and begin to wage war against the darkness. It is only through Christ that we can conquer every enemy in the kingdom of darkness. Every day we gain victory in our lives through the power of the Holy Spirit. But, you have to make the choice to follow God, trust in Him, and obey Him. Then the Holy Spirit fills and empowers you. And the day-to day victories are won because Christ lives in you.

Moment by moment the Holy Spirit guides, fills, and strengthens us. This empowers us to have the mind of Christ because that power in living in you.

No matter what the enemy throws at you today, you have victory. Because the One who loves you completely makes you a conqueror in every area of your life.

“But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loves us.” -Romans 8:37

Make these declarations:

  • In Christ Jesus I have overwhelming victory
  • I do not fear death because Jesus conquered it
  • I have victory over fear, worry, and temptation
  • I overcome every attack of Satan through Christ that is in me
  • Jesus empowers and fills me with His Spirit
  • Today, I am more than a conqueror.

Everyone struggles from day to day. Some days are harder than others. Proclaim these declarations over yourself every day to remind yourself you are more than a conqueror.

What Brings You Peace

What brings you peace?

The most important thing about peace for me is it something that’s not situational. I try to anchor my sense of well being to something solid rather than a ever-shifting chaotic world. I find my peace in knowing that whatever I go through all I have to do is look up. Facing uncomfortable situations head on and asking God to help me through. Always knowing I can turn to God and I will have peace and understanding through anything that happens in life.

Eternal Security

Can You Lose your salvation?

Some teach that you can. And often feel like they have. But what does the Word of God promise regarding eternal security of those who have truly trusted Christ as their Savior?

1. Salvation is God’s Work, Not our Work.

If our eternal destiny relied on us, Nothing about our future would be secure. Thankfully, God designed salvation to depend on Himself alone. He offers us salvation by grace through our faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9). Jesus finished the work of our salvation on the cross. He rose from the dead leaving nothing for helpless sinners to do but believe on Him (Acts 4:12). God not only can save us, but He keeps us saved (1 Peter 1:5).

Moreover, each person of the Trinity protects your eternal security.

The Father, the Son, And the Holy Spirit

  • The Father: “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of my hand.” -John 10:29
  • The Son: “And I give them eternal life, and the shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of my hand.” – John 10:28
  • The Holy Spirit: “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” -Ephesians 4:30

If God guarantees your salvation, who will be able to overcome Him and wrestle it away from you? Satan cannot pry you out of God’s grasp. Not even you could slip through God’s fingers.

2. Eternal Life Begins The Moment You Choose To Believe

John 3:16 promises, “Whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” The moment you choose to believe in Jesus alone for salvation you will have everlasting life. This life starts immediately and continues beyond physical death into eternity. If it could be lost, this Life could not be called “everlasting life.” It could certainly be potential life, or conditional life. But it would certainly not be “everlasting life.

3. Eternal Life is a Relationship, Not A Possession

In Jesus’ prayer the night before the crucifixion, He described eternal life as more than length of existence. “And this eternal life, that they may know You, The only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” – John 17:3 (KJV). Eternal life is a relationship with the eternal God. The moment you choose to believe, He becomes your Father. – John 1:12-13), you are born again and experience irreversible regeneration. -John 3:3; 15-16. You become a member of God)# family forever, He will not abandon you. – Hebrews 13:5-6

4. You Are “In Christ” and Can Never Be Condemned.

If you choose to believe Jesus died and rose again, then you are ‘in Christ.’ What Jesus did radically changes your standing before God. Jesus endured the condemnation we deserve as a guilty sinners. Since the price was paid, we can never be condemned. -Romans 8:1, 33-34. Jesus satisfied God’s wrath and justice on our behalf 1 John 2:2;4:10.

5. In Christ we Can Never be Separated from Him

In Romans 8 in describes those things that separate people from people-death, time, distance, and powerful beings to name a few. Yet, these dividers cannot isolate us from our Savior.

Who shall separate us from the love of Messiah? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Even as it is written,”For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter. No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love with is in Messiah Yeshua our Lord.” Romans 8:34-39 (Messianic Bible).

6. In God’s Eyes, You are already Glorified

God is not subject to time. He knows the end from the beginning. -Isaiah 46:10. What is a future to you is finished to Him.

If you are truly saved, your destiny is secure. Romans 8:30 tells us, “Whom He predestined, those He also called. Whom He called, those He justified. Whom He justified, those He also glorified.”

So, Can You Lose Your Salvatiom?

That’s the wrong question. Have you trusted Jesus alone to save you from your sin? When you do, the eternal security of your salvation lies with God alone.

Most Admired Profession

What profession do you admire most and why?

The Profession I admire most are Military Soldiers. They write a blank check made payable to the United States of America for an amount up to and including their life. And all for the safety and protection of others.

Broken Children Lead To Grown-Up Pain

The world is not whole. This reality was paraded in front of me in my childhood home —and maybe yours too.

Parents burden their children’s shoulders with responsibilities far beyond their capacity to bear. Some are celebrated for being “wise beyond our years,” but the secret is it’s because we never got to be kids.

Some boys were taught to “act like men” or that there was no time for them. Some girls were taught that men were scum. Family members abuse, and manipulate children physically, verbally, and emotionally. The very people that we’re supposed to protect us instead ignored and harm them. Trust was fundamentally fractured and we scramble to cope. Alone.

Parents fight violently. They abandon each other. Parents or siblings die. Children are blamed for circumstances that we’re never their fault. Some become a sponge for shame and disgust, and absorb every last insult and punch.

This puts children in the mode for survival.

Heartbreaking realities exist for broken children, that turn into grown-up pain. We grew up way to fast, than our little brains could handle. The result is feeling like we are “damaged goods.”

But, God is intimately familiar which each one of our pasts. Nothing is hidden from Him, especially not our terrors in the dead of night. Yet because of our backgrounds, we don’t act according to the standard script.

If you didn’t have “the right” upbringing or didn’t fit in to all the click groups. You didn’t have a chance to develop “the correct skill set or manners. You either got loud or silent. To say the least I always felt like I was invisible, and thought I wasn’t even from Earth.

There Is Hope

There are Bible verses that are meant to strengthen us. But, what happens when our circumstances don’t match what the Bible is saying, or the goodness of God was never taught? Where’s the hope then? We cry and pray for someone to come “save us” but that someone never comes. After that Satan has to get his punches in. ‘No one cares, you’re not worth it.’

We actually learn to hate before we learn to love, For years I wallowed in my wounds. And I absolutely knew no one would ever understand what I had gone through. For year’s i tried to deny my trauma. I stuffed my grown-up pain deep inside along with all the childhood pain.

It took years for me to realize I didn’t have to deny the trauma. I didn’t have to deny my frustration that I didn’t know what it was like to feel safe or assured of love and protection. No one ever should believe that the burdens they bear overpower God’s Words.

It wasn’t until I was invited to a Christian Conference that a thought “well, that’s kinda not my thing.” But, God showed me something that completely changes my life,

A complete stranger walked up to me, and I swear she could see straight through me. At first, I was “Okay, Run!” As I listened to her and she prayed over me. I felt like a heavy heavy burden lift from me. She told me that it was time to heal.

After 37 years it was time to heal. After 14 years of going to counselors and doctors. Each told me they couldn’t help me. God said it was time to heal -And it was.

God’s love is not like human love. With one small prayer the day I swore would never come and it started the healing process.

God sees our wounds more clearly than we do. There comes a time when it’s time to let God draw the poison of distrust, shame, and fear out of your wounds. It hurts, but it’s worth it in the long run.

The only thing is you have to “fear the Lord.”

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” -Proverbs 9:10

Don’t for a minute think you are less than anything because of your background. We can all be new creations, no matter our past.

All the things that have caused tears, and pain will seem like light momentary afflictions. One day, you will be whole, and full of hope.

“For our light affliction, which for a moment, works for us more and more exceedingly at eternal weight of glory.“ – 2 Corinthians 4:17.

Don’t Try To Do Everything In Your Own Strength

When we try to do everything in our own strength we begin to feel burdened and weighed down.

I was reading a post by Jonathan Cahn this morning. And he was telling a account of what him and his friends used to with quarters. I remember kids doing this when I was young.

I remember when I was growing up. Kids used to pray a practical joke on others. By super gluing a quarter to the sidewalk. When someone bent down to pick it up, it wouldn’t move. It was fixed to the sidewalk. A quarter barely weighs anything, but when superglued to the pavement it weighs as much as the pavement.

It was a cruel joke, but there is a great spiritual lesson. If you’re trying to be strong, and righteous in you’re own strength, you’re own strength will always fall short.

It’s not going to weigh much. But if you attach yourself to God; to His righteousness, then His strength, His weight, His power, His resources and His abilities then His authority becomes yours. You will not live by your weight, not by the lightness of the quarter but by the solidarity of the Rock (God). Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. It’s a truth that can change your life. We should try every day to live by the weight and power of God that is in us, and not by the lightness of the coin.

Where Do You Get Your Values

“Whatever you hav learned or received or heard from me,nor seen in me – put into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.“ -Philippians 4:9

A value or ethic is a principle or standard about what is important in one’s life. A followers values hold as important principles of life that Jesus taught.

A follower of Christ does not change over time. They are consistent from generation to generation since their foundations are found in God’s Word.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, they each person who belongs to God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.“ -2 Timothy 3:16-17

The values the Jesus taught in the New Testament can be Somme up in two thoughts –love God and Love others. Here are some samples of values that are presented in the Word of God.

  • Generosity -This is the core value of being kind and unselfish.

“The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.” – Proverbs 22:9

  • Courage – The value is characterized by boldness and confidence, it’s the opposite of fear.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for the Lord God is with you wherever you go.“ -Joshua 1:9

  • Love – is a fundamental characteristic of who God is and it’s a value that I’d to describe His children as well.

“We love because He first loved us.” – 1 John 4:19

  • Respect – This value is to be conscious that God has created all people in His image. As a response, we show respect to all.

“Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear aGod, honor the king.” – 1 Peter 2:17

  • Hope – The value of hope is confident expectation. It’s a firm assurance in God.

“Indeed surly there is a hope, and your hope will not be cut off.” – Proverbs 23:17

  • Peace – There are many aspects of this value mentioned in the Bible. It refers to rest and tranquility and ultimate peace is a gift from God. God’s peace is Shalom Peace.

“So, then, let’s follow after things which make for peace, and things by which we may build one another up.” -Romans 14:19

Applying These Values

A follower of Jesus is someone whose behavior and heart reflects Jesus Christ. That’s what it means to be a true follower of Jesus. Applying these values is to be the intention of every true believer. That’s why it is written by the Apostle Paul, “Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me – put it not practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” -Philippians 4:9

As we read God’s Word, we become to know God better, and understand His purpose for is in the world. We learn the values He holds dear and we grow to love those values too. The Holy Spirit works through us to spread God’s love through good works, leading others to eternal life through Jesus.

God is very clear in His Word how to apply each of these values He holds dear. One way to tell if you hold these values God hold dear, is how we treat others.

“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” – Romans 12:9-10

“The Bible tells us that, “One who gives to the poor had no lack; but one who closes his eyes will have many curses.” – Proverbs 28:27

Jesus looked people in need directly in the eye. He saw them. As their creator. He loved them. He didn’t turn His eyes away from poverty or illness. He stopped and gave people hope. He wasn’t motivated by what people in need could offer Him. He had a genuine love for them and wanted to help meet their needs -physical, emotional, and spiritual. He always acted with compassion.

True followers of Jesus are called to do the same, we are called to love God and Lovr people. As Jesus says,

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second likewise is this, Yoy shall love your neighbor as yourself.“ -Matthew 22:37

I believe that we as Americans have gotten so spoiled with all the blessings we have we have gotten very selfish.

Third-world countries are class countries are classified ad counties that are poor or developing. Counties that are part of the “third world are generally characterized by three things.

  • High rates of powerty
  • Economic and/or political instability
  • High mortality rates

Despite that the government in America is trying to turn us into a third-world Country. We are still rich, if you have food to eat, a roof over your head, and drive a vehicle. You would be considered rich in a third world country.

With all the people who are claiming to be oppressed, and offended or hate the country we live in. Where did America’s value system go?

Where do your values come from?
