Take A Break

Do you need a break? From what?

Everyone needs a little time for themselves. Everyone needs to recharge to recover from stress. It improves our performance and restores our energy and mental process.

Giving our brains a chance to rest, to shift our daily habits and let our minds wander. This helps our mind, body, and soul.

The world seems to be moving 100 miles an hour, and we can only go with for so long before our bodies crash.

We must have the courage to listen to our bodies and intuition and invest in ourselves through best we can.

The Silver Cord

If you have ever had or heard of someone that has had a near death experience you may know about the silver cord.

The silver cord is often referred to as the “life thread” because it supplies energy to our physical bodies. If that silver cord is severed, the physical body can no longer be sustained and dies.

Having a near death experience causes you to hover above your body. As if you’re floating outside your body.

I know it sounds like New Age misinformation. But if you experience it or know someone who has experience, they’re probably the most sincere person you’ve ever met.

The silver cord is known in many religious circles, it’s even in the Bible.

“Before the silver cord is severed, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is broken at the spring, or the wheel broken at the cistern, and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it” – Ecclesiastics 12:6-7

The Bible clearly supports the teaching of many eastern religions, if the silver cord is severed, your consciousness can no longer be filtered through the physical vessel.

the sole purpose of the silver cord, or life thread, is to provide the subtle and physical bodies with vital energy. umbilical cord to receive and transfer Prana (a vital life force that is believed to be the bases of all life). Without this, the physical body could not operate as it does. That is why once the silver cord is severed the physical body has no choice but to die.

The silver cord is symbolic, and its representation of the connection between the body and the spirit. the cord snaps, the spirit returns to God and the body returns to dust. Silver in the Bible represents redemption.

Ecclesiastics 12:3- 7 explains the process of death. Some preachers refer to this a “the secret of death.” I will add to this to better explain. This is the way I learned.

“In the day when the keepers of the house (the hands and the arms) tremble. And the strong men (the feet and the knees) bow themselves. And the grinders (the molar teeth) cease because they are few, and those who look out the windows (the eyes) are darkened.

When the doors (the lips) are shut in the streets and the sound of the grinding (of the teeth) is low, and one rises up at the voice of a bird, and the crowing of a cock, and all the daughters of music (the voice and the ear) are brought low.

Also when the old are afraid of danger from which is high, and fears are in the way, and the almond tree (their white hair) blooms. And the grasshopper (a little thing) is a burden, and desire and appetite fail because man goes to his everlasting home and mourners go about the streets and marketplace.

Remember your creator earnestly now before the silver cord (of life is snapped apart, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern (the whole circulatory system of the blood ceases to function) then shall the dust (out if which God made the body) return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return to God who gave it”- Ecclesiastics 12:3-7.

Important Invention

The most important invention in your lifetime is…

I believe the most important invention of my lifetime has to be Coronary Bypass Surgery.

In 1967 Rene Favaloro performed the first coronary bypass surgery, taking a length of vein from the leg and graphing it onto the coronary artery.

This allows blood to flow around the blocked section. In part the advances, the number of deaths from heart disease can be decreased by 50%.

The Narrow Path

Let’s face it: walking with God is hard. It’s not, it shouldn’t be an easy walk, a straight way.

Matthew 7 13-14, warns us of this by saying,

“Enter by the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it. How narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life. Few are those who find it.”

The Bible cautions us that following God is hard, and we must be prepared for challenges that come. Thankfully, we have a guide on our path to eternity, to life. We have been given the Bible as our helper. We don’t have to walk the narrow path, clueless, and downtrodden. When it gets tough, we can always find the encouragement we need to keep on the path to eternity.

Training, reproving, corrected, and training in righteousness makes life complete. By the spirit of God through scripture, we can become completely equipped for our walk on the narrow way. The Bible gives us all the tools we need.

In order to be taught by the Bible, though we need to be willing to learn. It is nature that our human nature is stubborn and doesn’t want to accept help. instead we want to be self-sufficient. But instead, we need to rely on God, not ourselves. And this requires a change in our mindset.

We need to admit that we are incomplete apart from Jesus’s work in our lives. We need to soak up what we read in the Bible and implement it. we need to humble ourselves before the Word of God. We need to remember we are weak, but God is strong. he wants what’s best for us and part of His best for us is the growth and instruction that can only come from the Bible.

Whether we are confused, lost, or depressed we can turn to the Bible as our comforter. In Psalm 143, David cries out for God’s mercy. It reminds us. We all need a good cry, every once in a while.

God’s love is boundless, limitless, and a comfort in every battle and struggle. Embracing God’s Word and His comfort will bring us peace.

David confirms in Psalm 119 that God’s Word is a light to his path,

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” -Psalm 119:105

That light is our encouragement on the narrow and hard path.

The path is difficult and leads to life, we have to enter it to experience new life (John 17:3), Jesus said “This is eternal life, that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ.

Although we may be hated and mocked, we have a better quality of life because of our intimacy with God. There can be peace in the middle of a storm, and joy in the middle of hardship. Jesus said,

“I came that you may have life and life more abundantly” -John 10:10

Ultimately, those who follow this narrow path will spend eternity in heaven. Heaven is our hope on this path the light at the end.

The Ideal Day

Describe your most ideal day from beginning to end.

My ideal day would be a day spent of quality time with my family. Maybe hiking and exploring nature like we used to.

Loving The Truth

Many people know the truth about God and His ways. But how many actually love the truth and actively seek out understanding, and the accurate information while also valuing and prioritizing truthfulness in all aspects of their lives, even when it’s challenging or uncomfortable.

Loving the truth is a commitment to honesty and integrity, refusing to compromise on principles, even when face with pressure to do otherwise.

A person who loves the truth, strives should be honest with themselves and others, avoiding deception and self deception.

Actively evaluating information is discerning what is accurate and reliable, not just accepting what is convenient or popular.

Having the courage to speak up, and being willing to be the voice of truth, even when it might be unpopular or leads to conflict.

Loving the truth, requires a genuine desire to learn and grow by embracing new information that our lines with the truth.

Loving the truth is embracing the teachings of Jesus, studying scripture and living, according to God‘s principles.

The Lord Laughs

Psalm 2 tells us “The Lord laughs at the wicked.” meaning that God finds the people plotting and rebellion against Him futile and ridiculous that He essentially laughs at their attempts to oppose Him. He knows that His supreme power and confidence that their plans will ultimately fail.

God is not threatened by human rebellion and sees their efforts as insignificant. His laughter is a way of expressing His disdain for the wicked schemes against Him and His chosen ones.

The world has plotted the throw off God’s control. But the setting is black and white. God’s enemies stand against Him on one side, and His friends with Him on the other side. His plans will not be thwarted.

There is no reason to fear if we are on the side who are friends with God. Soon enough our enemies will hear His voice, but instead of being comforted by God, they will be terrified by His fury (Psalm 2:5).

They will stand no chance against the sovereignty of God. They will be overmatched and will most certainly lose in the end.

We all have free will, but soon people will have a choice of which side they wish to be on – God’s or Satan’s.

The Passage Of Time

How do significant life events or the passage of time influence your perspective on life?

Anyone who has experienced childhood abuse knows the very core of the person’s being is altered. Their entire sense the world is turned upside down.

Surviving unthinkable abuse has changed the way I’ve developed. For year’s I’ve experienced fear and shame, anxiety, which shaped me into something I sometimes don’t want to be. I have worked hard on learning coping mechanisms to deal with my feelings of distrust and abandonment issues, and low self-esteem.

I’ve worked hard to not live in survival mode. For most of my life, I’ve felt constantly on edge, hyper-vigilant, and ready to react defensively to perceive threats, even seemingly safe situations which put me in a constant state of fight or flight response due to my brain having learned to prioritize self-preservation over feeling safe and relaxed.

I’ve worked hard to change my perspective on life, but not before I took a toll on my physical health. It is one of the reasons I started this blog, thinking maybe someone can learn from my mistakes.

“Always try to learn from other people’s mistakes, it’s much cheaper that way.”

To Do It Lists

Something on your “to-do list” that never gets done.

To do it lists help us organize our thoughts, prioritize our tasks, and reduce cutter and provide a sense of accomplishment by visually displaying what needs to be done and allowing us to check off completed items. Which leads to increased productivity and better time management.

I try not to make long daily to do it lists. Otherwise, I feel like unaccomplished. If I can get three or four things on my do it list today then. I feel good, but putting 10 things on my to do list I get overwhelmed and overthink, feeling like I have to rush through things. The rushing is what gets me in trouble.

Why Governments Are Against Christianity

Most governments are against Christianity because they cannot control people who believe in a “higher power.” Christians, due to their faith in God cannot be controlled by any earthly authority because their ultimate allegiance lies with God or higher power, which influences their decisions and actions even when facing external pressures.

This is emphasizes the personal connection between a Christian and their God. No earthly entity can fully dictate their beliefs or action based on their faith.

Belief in God provides a strong moral framework for Christians, which guides their behavior even when faced with external pressure to act differently.

Historically, Christians have used their faith as a source of strength when facing persecution, refusing to submit to authority that contradicts their belief in God.

It was Hillary Clinton that made a declaration of war on Bible believing Christians in 2016. She stated that the “deep seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.” This is perhaps the most radical statement against religious liberty ever utters by someone seeking a presidency. And it’s deeply revealing.

My Cooking

What’s your favorite thing to cook?

I really enjoy cooking, but I’m sure I’m like everyone else when I say I don’t like the cleaning-up process. We enjoy meals for probably 10/15 minutes and then spend an hour cleaning up.

Lately, I’m really loving the one-pot meals. Like Italian sausage and pepper sandwiches, or one-pot pasta.

Healing From Within

I listened to a teaching from Steven Furtick a few years ago and wrote this thought down, because it is dead on for someone who is fighting all the wrong battles.

“I thought I was fighting someone, and I thought I was fighting something, but the real fight, the real war, the real battle was not a battle with them, it was a battle I was fighting within.”

There are times in our lives when we are like Saul in the Bible, fighting the wrong battles, trying to kill what God is trying to use. We explode or “freak out” on people, or treat them badly, when instead we should just bless the Lord, if we could just get ourselves right, our minds right, if we could just fix our eyes, it would all come together.

Saul wads walking, talking civil war. He took out what was happening within himself on the closest available target.

Parents do this all the time to their children. It’s not that we don’t love them, we love them more than we love ourselves, but sometimes we don’t love ourselves. So, we cannot give them the love we have for them, if there is no love of God that flows out of us. We are not fighting them we are fighting ourselves.

When we are at war with ourselves, wretched if you will as the Apostle Paul calls the weapons of this world. We are fighting the very thing that God is trying to use in our lives.

Sometimes we are fighting against what we should be fighting for.

Knowing the true nature of God will help us to trust Him and open ourselves up so that we can receive the healing that only the Holy Spirit can provide for us.

Tom and 8:32 says,

“He who didn’t spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how would He not also with Him freely give us all things?”

After Jesus suffered and died for us, why would He withhold healing our wounded souls? We can confidently open up to Him and know that He has our best interests in mind simply by looking at what He went through on the cross for us.

We are loved by God, not because of what we’ve done, but because of who we are. The Bible tells us that while we were sinners, Jesus died for us. He longed to have a relationship with us even before we became His children (Romans 5:8).

Jesus says in John 15:14, “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down His life for His friends.”

Jesus laid down His life for us -that is how valuable and dear we are to Him.

We must realize God’s will for our souls.

Aside from the spirit of man, we should remember that this is the most important part of a man. His soul. Our being is man and emotion. But the soul comprises three parts, the mind which says “I think,” and the emotion which says, “I feel,’ and the decision which says, “I will.” We should understand that it is crucial in our inner or emotional healing because it is our own self-consciousness, our inner being if the spirit is part is God-conscious, and the flesh is world-conscious, then our soul is our own self-consciousness. It took me 10 years to understand this, Hopefully, now you can understand this and benefit from it as I have.

“For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and of a sound mind” – 2 Timothy 1:7.

When the Holy Spirit comes, the will of God for the healing of our souls comes. God completes us!

We should make it clear in our minds that the Holy Spirit can work by God’s grace if we let Him. It is for us to decide.

Abuse, trauma, hurt, and pain are all works of the devil and the consequences of our fall. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil and to restore His children to fullness to which He had created them to fulfill.

When Jesus was here on the earth, He went about doing the will of the Father in heaven, and this included healing all who were oppressed of satan.

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, (satan) for God was with Him” -Acts 10:38.

When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit comes as a result of this acceptance and He will be the One that will bring us to transformation.

Realizing our identity in Christ Jesus is absolutely vital to our healing process. We need to know that we are “new in Christ” freed from the darkness of our past, forgiven of our sins, and that freedom and healing are ours because of the Blood that Jesus she’d for us.

The decision is whether we surrender wholly to Him, and allow the Holy Spirit to live on the inside of us.
