The state of out heart is very important to God. It determines our faith, our approach to things, our perspective, and our attitude. So we are called upon to sanctify the Lord in our hearts, meaning that we recognize and position our hearts for God to dwell in us, and for Him to use.
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear: having a good conscience; that, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Messiah.” -1 Peter 3:15-16 (Messianic)
Two attitudes are encouraged in this passage:
1. Meekness and Humility
Which is central to healthy relationships and friendships.
2. Reverence especially to God
Which is key to holy living and a great relationship with God.
My hope is that we will be committed to God and His vision for our lives. And be ready to share our faith with others. That we will walk in humility and reverence. Those who speak evil of you will find no reason to do so.
May the doors of favor be opened for you, and the Grace of God be with you.
