Jehovah Elkanna

El Kanna is the Hebrew name for God meaning consuming fire, jealous God. This name contains a Holy version of jealousy that God has for His people. God is jealous for you and me. We are greatly loved and treasured! God is jealous for you. He wants every inch of your heart connected to His. God’s Holy jealously is rooting in a desire to protect, provide, and bless us. Join me as we unpack the treasure found in this beautiful Hebrew name of God. Jehovah Elkanna.

You must worship no other gods, for the Lord, whose very name of Jealous, is a God who is jealous about His relationship with you.

Exodus 34;14

Understanding The Name Of God, El Kanna-Consuming Fire, Jealous God.

El-Kanna the Hebrew name for God is mentioned six times in the Old Testament. We first see it in Exodus 32:14. After leading the nation of Israel out of Egyptian slavery. God brings them to Mount Sinai where He gave Moses the Ten Commandments. While Moses is on the mountain with God, the people talked Aaron into making a golden calf for them to worship (sadly their are many who are worshipping golden calves today), he became angry and threw down the stone tablet God had given him that His commandments on them. God is ready to wipe the entire nation out, but Moses intercedes for them. You will get a better understanding of the rules that God set out for His chosen people if you read about these accounts in the book of Exodus. It was for their protection, both physical and spiritual. It is the same for us! God gave us these commandments to protect our hearts. (Sadly these commandments are being ignored, and we have been consumed by our ugly hearts). Love God and He loves us passionately. In fact this Hebrew name of God El-Kanna describes God as Israel’s husband, jealous for her affections and ours too. El-Kanna demands an exclusive love relationship with His people. In Deuteronomy 6:5, we learn we are ti “Love the Lord your God will all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

There is no room in our relationship with God for any idols. Let’s read this account from Exodus:

Then the Lord told Moses, “Chisel out the two stone tablets like the first ones. I will write on them the same words that were on the tablets you smashed. Be ready in the morning to climb up Mount Sinai and present yourself to me on the top of the mountain. No one else may come with you. In fact, no one else is to appear anywhere on the mountain. Do not even let the flocks or herds graze near the mountain.” So Moses chiseled out two tablets of stone like the first one. Early in the morning he climbed Mount Sinai as the Lord had commanded him, and he carried the two stone tablets in his hands. Then the Lord came down in a cloud and stood there with him; and He called His own Name, Yahweh. The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, “Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty. I let the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected – even children in the third and fourth generations.” Moses immediately threw himself to the ground and worshipped. And he said, “O Lord, if it is true that I have found favor with you, then please travel with us. Yes, this is a stubborn and rebellious people, but please forgive our iniquity and our sins. Claim us as your own special possessions (Sadly this generation and the ones passed have chosen to be stubborn and rebellious). The Lord replied, Listen, I am making a new covenant with you in the presence of all your people. I will perform miracles that have never been performed anywhere in all the earth or in any nation. And all the people around you will see the power of the Lord – the awesome power I will display for you. But listen carefully I command you today. Then I will go ahead of you and drive out the Amorite’s, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusitrs. Be very careful never to make a treaty with the people who live in the land where you are going. If you do, you will follow their evil ways and be trapped. Instead, you must break down their pagan alters, smash their sacred pillars, and cut down their Asherah poles. You must worship no other gods, for the Lord whose very name is Jealous, is a God who is jealous about His relationship with you. You must not make a treaty of any kind with the people living in the land. They lust after their gods, offered sacrifices to them. They invite you to join them. Then you will accept their daughters, who sacrifice to other gods, as wives from your sons. And they will seduce your sons to commit adultery against me by worshipping other gods . You must not make any gods of molten metal for yourselves.

Exodus 34:1-15

Read Deuteronomy 6:17-19

God’s jealousy is more about us than about Him. He wants us to be passionately searching and consuming with Him. He wants a relationship with you. This involves surrendering everything in your life to Him and following His commands. God wants us to reach our full potHe has created us to reach. Take Note of verse Deuteronomy 6:18. Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight, so all will go well with you. Then you will enter and occupy the good land that the Lord swore to give our ancestors.

God promises that all will go well with us when we surrender everything in our lives to Him and love Him passionately like a husband with no unfaithfulness in our hearts.

Why is that Important?

Why does God have to be jealous for us? When we surrender everything to Him and love Him passionately. It provided a track, or apathy for Him to work in our lives and bring Hid blessings.

The word ‘jealous’ “is to become intensely red” and refers to how rising emotion colored our face when something or someone very dear to us is threatened.

But if we the world doesn’t wake up soon to this Jehovah Elkanna will persecute this land and bring judgement to us. I know this because we are following the past history of the Israelites. History always repeats itself. We have become a spoiled people and if we don’t wake up soon. All God’s warnings will come to pass.

The Three Heavens

2 Corinthians 12:2 talks about a man who was caught up in the third heaven. Logic dictates that if there is a third heaven one and two. The third heaven is Scripture is where God Almighty rules and reigns over the universe with His Holy angels. This is where the righteous receive their crowns of life after hearing the words, “Well done good and faithful servant.”

There are mansions of spend or and times that are dazzling white. The third heaven is our eternal home as children of the Highest God. It’s the city where the Lamb is the light, where tears are never shed and goodbyes are never uttered. There is no sorrow or pain, only joy, and sheer perfection, it’s the city where we will one day join the angels in singing, “Holy! Holy! Holy! God Almighty!” around the throne of God.

Heal Is For Real!

The Second Heaven

The second heaven is where Satan rules his evil empire with legions of demons are fallen angels. Demons have power. They have personality. They have purpose. Satan has come to steal, to kill and to destroy. If he can mislead you down a wrong path that will destroy your life’s purpose… he has won the battle. The second heaven is his campground.

Make no mistake about it! Satan is a fallen angel who quotes Scripture to deceive and destroy the righteous.

The First Heaven

Is the heaven you can see with your natural eyes. It contains the sun, the moon, and the stars. We are now waiting on the blood moons.

America is fascinated by the supernatural. While our modern society seems to devour books and movies about ghosts and witches in droves, the most supernatural book in the universe is the Word of God. From the very first word in Genesis, the genius of God explodes as the universe is created from a handful of gift. God spoke four words and , right forever conquered darkness. He flung the glittering stars like diamonds against the black velvet of the night to reflect His glory. The sun and the moon and the stars are celestial evangelists who travel across the heavens declaring His greatness.

Psalm 19:1 says, “ The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament so His handiwork.”

Let’s talk a moment about angels, God secret agent. I don’t believe in angels because someone told me they saw one, or because I watched a movie late last night featuring Hollywood‘s rendition of a angel. I read in angels because the Word of God said they are real, if God‘s word says it, I believe it…because “His Word is truth” (John 17:17).

What is an angel? Angles are created (Colossians 1:16). They have superior knowledge, and they are without number.

Psalm 91:11 says he will give his angels charge over you and keep you in all your ways. Angles. Plural. Every believer has a right to believe that two angels have been sent from heaven to protect and defend us at all times.

Psalm 34 Tell the angels of the Lord and count around those who fear him. And the angels deliver us from evil. Encamp literally need to surround. So if you are a believer, then angels surround and protect you wherever you go.

Angels are innumerable, invisible and invincible. When you give your heart to Christ, you are under the protection of the Almighty God and his angels. Your protection is far greater than your enemies.

The President of the United States has a secret service. But you have angels, God secret agents, to protect you in all your ways. They have awesome power when executing Judgment of God. They can’t control the power of nature and the universe. They are not intimidated by the forces of evil. In the great tribulation, God is going to release his angels to crush the ungodly in masses. And I tell you, that is power!

What else do and you? Their office is twofold. First, they worship and adore God, the redeemer of mankind. John wrote in Revelation 5:11-12, “ when I looked, and I heard a voice of me angels around the throne… and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand… saying with a loud voice: “ worthy is the lamb who was slain Theresea power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!”

The second thing of you is to serve God by carrying out His judgments. God judges nations, and he judges individuals. The Bible tells us that it is “ appointed wants to die and then the judgment (Hebrews 9:27).” There are two appointments every person will keep; One is with death, And the other is Judgement Day when they stand before God Almighty an answer for every thought word and deed.

God judges child abuse! Who ever wrong or injured a child intentionally brings the wrath and vengeance of God upon himself through that child’s guardian angel. On Judgement Day, The same angle that drags Satan into the flames of the eternal hell will chain the child molester, the sex trafficker, men and women who have harmed innocent children…And dragon straight into the judgment they deserved for all eternity. I didn’t say that. I loving and merciful God said that angels defend children.

Numbers 32:23 warn us by saying, “ are you sure your sins will find you out.” Nothing is done in secret! God sees everything! Angels drove Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden.

For every sin, satan is ready to provide an excuse. He is a fallen angel, ready to manipulate scripture so that it sound right…unless you are so familiar with the Word that you can recognize the truth. If Satan missed quoted Scripture in any effort to deceive the Son of God,He would certainly do the same to you.

Let’s be clear on this. Rationalization of your skin is Satan substitute for repentance! Walk away from the forbidden fruit. There is a high price for low living.

God’s way is not always the easiest app, but it will bring you out to Rich fulfillment but no other journey you can ever imagine…if you only will persevere to the end. Gods message to our generation is this…struggle is evidence that you are next in line for a promotion! Don’t quit now! It’s during the struggle you find out who you really are.

The greatest my sentence tells us is that there’s plenty of time. Plenty of time to get our lives right with Christ. Plenty of time to share the salvation message. Plenty of time to sit back and relax.

But the trumpet of God could sound at any moment. Do not wait! Share the celebration message. Because very soon will be called up in a twinkling of an eye and it will just be that fast.

Living Victoriously

Many of God’s children are living defeated, unsatisfied and unsatisfactory lives. They never entered into the experience of the peaceful life (Isaiah 30:15); the overflowing life (John 7:37-39); the abundant life (John 10:10); the joyful life (John 15:11); the liberated life (Romans 6:7); the triumphant life (2 Corinthians 2:14); and the loving life (1 John 2:5) – and yet they long to do so.

What Is Meant By A Life Of Victory?

Sever characteristics of such a life are mentioned above, and many other scriptures could be cited. Consider the following:

It is not a life in which it is impossible to sin, but a life in which voiceover sin is possible. The first is unattainable in this life, but the second is attainable.

It is not an abnormal life or a life to be enjoyed by just a few of God’s children, but it is His provision for every Christian.

It is not a life where there is no temptation, but a life where temptation is overcome. Hebrews 4:15 tells us that “For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.

It is not a life of outward victory only, but a life of inward and outward victory.

It is not a fully grown life where further growth in grace is unnecessary or impossible.

The victorious life is a life of victory over Sin, Self, and Satan; a life of freedom from the power of sin as well as freedom from the penalty of sin; a life that is not only “reconciled to God by the death of His Son” but a life that is also “saved through His life”

Romans 5:10

Is Such A Life Really Possible?

Is it God’s will that we should live a life of victory? Has He made provision for each and all of His children to be victorious? If so, we sin against by accepting and being satisfied with anything less than His will. If it is not His will it would be a sin Him to seek or to expect to live this life. Reverse the question for a moment: is it God’s will that we, His children, should be defeated lives? Is it necessary for us to beset and over and overcome by such things as temper, touchiness, unfaithfulness, pride? God desires us to live and experience a victorious life.

What Is The Secret Of This Life Of Victory?

The secret is a fore-told, for the sake of simplicity and clarity I will state them:

1. Victory is not gained by human effort. We should be on the way to living a life of victory when we have truly learned this simple lesson. It is absolutely impossible to live this life in our own strength. 1 Samuel 2:9 says “Here is the reason for all our failure, we have tried to gain the victory over sin, self and Satan in our own strength, and we have failed every time! Remember this: God has excluded the work of man from every tense of Salvation. We are not saved from the guilt and penalty of sin by our own works (Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5); we are not saved from the power of sin by our own works (Romans 5:10); we will not be saved from the presence of sin by our own works (John 14:3; Exodus 14:13-14).

2.Victory is given – It is a gift. 1 Corinthians 15:57 makes it clear. The victorious Christian life is God’s gift, and it is offered to everyone who receives this gift. The victorious life which He offered to all victorious, triumphant life of His son. The Lord Jesus in a human body triumphed gloriously in His life and by His death over sin and Satan; and now His victorious life is offered to your and me as a gift to be received, that His victorious life may be reproduced in and lived out through our human bodies. There is on,y one victorious life, and when you receive the Lord Jesus (John 1:12), you received that life. Did you realize that? Now you must let Him live His life in you. Joshua 6:16 tells us that the victory over Jericho was not gained by effort and striving, but by simple trust and obedience. That Victory was a gift!

3. Victory is gained by a choice. It is vital to see this. I had long as we are in the world we will be faced with a choice, and Joshua faced the children of Israel with a choice (Joshua 24:15). This choice involves a definite, conscious act of our will. Every time we are tempted to sin, if we are to experience victory we must make a deliberate, conscious choice to please God who is already gained a victory for us, and who is waiting to give victory to us – and the moment we choose Him we receive His power and enabling. See Romans 6:13.

4, Victory is maintained by an attitude. Victory is only victory, of course, as victory is maintained. What then is the secret of conscious victory?

Here it is in one sentence:

Let Us Fix Our Eyes On Jesus… Who Gives Us The Victory…

Hebrews 12:2 is our part

1 Corinthians 15:57 is His part

What Does It Mean To Backslide?

I have to say, I didn’t even know this word before I was a Christian.

In the Christian context backslide implies movement away from God rather the toward Him. A backslider is someone who is going the wrong way, spiritually. They are regressing rather than progressing.

The backslider had a one time demonstrated a commitment to God or once maintained a certain standard of behavior, by they have since reverted to their old ways.

Backsliding May manifest itself in several ways such as dropping out of church, losing fervor for God, walking away from a ministry or a church family, or falling back into old habits.

John 10:28-29 says, “God will not kick His children out of His family,”that is not how we will use the word. Backsliding simply means that someone is growing cold toward God. I think some people backslide because they are not growing in Christ ( meat). Although a backslide condition could indicate the person was never truly saved to begin with, and are only showing their true colors. It’s also possible for children of God to backslide, temporarily.

The Bible uses the phrase “fall away” rather than backslide, but the idea is similar. In the Bible “fall away” can mean two different things. In one instance, a person is saying break spearing and temporary period of questioning that could call a “crisis of faith.” In the other instance, the person was never saved at all the only temporary having behaved at the same person would. It’s like Taking a test drive and Christianity.

In Mark 14:27 Jesus told his disciples, “you will all fall away.” What he meant was that, when He was arrested, they would experience a crisis of faith, a life event so shocking that they would run from Jesus and question the very core of their beliefs. It was a night of offense, a night of stumbling for them. But this was a temporary condition. Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to his disciples. Their faith and hope restored, stronger than ever.

The apostle Paul tells us how to handle a fellow believer who is backsliding: “Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted” (Galatians 6:1), James concurs: “My brothers and sisters, if one of you could wander from the truth…Somebody should bring the person back.” (James 5:19). The back slider has wandered from where he should be and is “stuck” in sin, but the church will work to restore him and set him back on the path of righteousness.

There are events in life, such as death of a loved one, that may cause us to question God. This is OK, as long as we go to God with those questions rather than using them as excuses to live in rebellion. The result of a crisis of faith is often that we come to know God more intimately than before. In times of trial, we should delve into the Word, pray with persistence (Luke 18:1). and surround ourselves with those whose faith is strong.

I see another type of “falling away” in Hebrew 6:4-6 and Luke 8:13. Hebrews 6 describe the apostate, Someone who had only “tasted the goodness of the word” verse 5 and later rejects it. In Luke 8:13. Jesus illustrate apostasy with the rocky soil – some fall away or backslide because “they have no root.” And each of these passages, a person outwardly appears to be a Christian, at least for a while, but he has not committed himself to God. Such a person might be attending church, reading his Bible, listening to Christian music, hanging out with Christian friends. He likes the wholesome atmosphere and a good company of being around Christian affords. But his heart is not changedHe has never been born again. Eventually, he backslides. He had taken Christianity for a test drive and decided he wasn’t buying.

Salvation comes by means of a genuine confession of Jesus as Lord to the heart that believe in Jesus’s death and resurrection (Romans 10:9-10). It’s a person who has been truly stayed later backslides – that is, he slips back into spiritually damaging attitudes and behaviors the slide will be temporary. The chastening of the Lord will bring him back. The good Shepherd will seek out the wandering lamb. (Luke 15-3-7).

It’s the person who was never saved but only putting on a good front backsides – that is, he dropped the charade and showed his true colors his last decision will be worse than the first (Hebrews 10:26-31). How can we tell one type of backsliding from another? We can’t always, unless given time, and even then, we don’t know how much time. God will take in restoring the backslider. Only God can see his heart.

Run Towards The Roaring

The roar is supposed to scare the prey into running away. What the prey doesn’t know is it the lionesses have strategically place them selves or attack.

What the prey doesn’t know is that it’s the females lionesses not the males that are actually the hunters. The male lions are inherently too slow and lazy not unlike the human species. While the lion roars and makes the scene to scare the prey away the lionesses are in wait.

Scripture tells us that our enemy Satan Crowell around like a roaring lion, seeking whom it could desire. The reality is if you are a Christian, you are not in danger of being devoured by Satan. He has no claim over your life. Christians are a new creation, and no longer a slave to the curse of sin and death. But what Satan does if he tries to scare you into being devoured by pain and fear. In fact his intention is to steal, kill, and destroy you. He wants to steal your joy, kill your help, and destroy the purposes God has for your life.

What people often do when they encounter a trial, aIt knocked the breath out of us but it had like yours tragedy, or a painful experience is they try to run away from it. Pain is terrifying and messy. It sneaks up on us and can cripple us in an instant. It knocks the breath out of us but it can’t kill us. Most people are fearful of stepping into the pain, and letting your heart feel the full weight of it, but if we work through it and give it over to the Lord. In reality it will make us stronger. No longer feeling exposed and vulnerable. And we can actually come to a place of healing. We as humans car to box up our pain. Our first reaction is running from it, because we don’t want to hurt. But when we try to box it up, it booby fax us and we will feel more ferocity.

Instead of running away from the pain, decide to run toward it. Embrace it deal with it head on. Once you face something fears will reside and the pain goes away. We get stronger instead of weaker.

Doing opposite of what you feel like doing give you strength. Initially when you run towards the roar it’s excruciating, but eventually it’s healing.

Life has a funny way of getting us to deal with trials and tribulations. We must run around the mountain many times as we have to until we get it right. We can’t selectively numb our heart that feels pain and still be attuned be attuned to pleasure. We either numb it all and don’t feel anything at all, or feel the pain and feel the pleasure.

I have this nasty habit of either all at once, or nothing at all. I can choose either to feel all the pain and feel pleasures too, or numb the pain and numb the pleasures too. In order to feel the joy of dancing on the other side you must be willing to step into the sting of mourning.

So run towards the roar and start healing. You won’t regret it.
